Sometimes the in-between sneaks back up on you. Out of no-where it hits you like a ton of bricks and leaves you dazed and confused. So, what is there to do?

You take an early morning walk then grab a cup of coffee and head to the garden when the dew is still on the roses. You meet friends for coffee or lunch. You reach out to your network of people. The resume and portfolio need to be updated.

So, you pick yourself up and gear up to do it all again…though you must admit the thought of it is not only daunting but exhausting.

But alas, onward & upward!

a busy in-between https://lindabowendesign.com/a-busy-in-between/ Fri, 02 Mar 2018 01:05:33 +0000 http://lindabowendesign.com/?p=985

The in-between has been an incredibly busy place lately. In fact, sometimes I’m surprised how busy things are! When I entered this sabbatical season I promised myself that I would make the most of the time I had by enjoying things that I may not have had time to do when I worked full time, or even things that would have been impossible to do with my previous schedule. I’ve enjoyed visiting over brats & pretzels with friends and reminiscing about our time in Germany, making new ones through study, cooking classes, networking and job search meetings. I even picked up a contract project and I’m loving every minute of it!

The website and portfolio are now complete (go check it out at lindabowendesign.com) along with all my personal branding pieces. Job applications are being filled out and submitted. And then starts the hardest part of the in-between…waiting to hear back from various businesses and organizations to see if they like my work and if I might be a good fit for what they need.

The thing I’ve been the most grateful for is all the support and encouraging words I have received from family and friends, both old and new. Thank you for the phone calls and text messages “just because you were thinking about me”. Thank you for all the job leads, connections and advice. For those that took the time to scour my website to help me make sure everything worked “just right”, helped me proof all the various and sundry pieces of these projects & assisted in photography, I cannot thank you enough. I’m so blessed by the people that surround me!

the in-between https://lindabowendesign.com/the-in-between/ Sat, 10 Feb 2018 22:53:27 +0000 http://lindabowendesign.com/?p=741 The in-between is a funny place. Somewhere between where you’ve been and where you’re going, even if you are not sure where that is. It’s a place where time can be of the essence, yet it can be a time of rest and reflection. The time between weekends, between the seasons, between hellos and goodbyes, between the past you’ve left behind and what the future holds. It’s a moment when you pause for a cup of coffee with a friend, you make a list of to-do’s, or you wait for the kids in the pick-up line at school. The in-between is always there, it’s what you do with it that matters. What do you do in your “in-between”?
